Month: June 2008

  • After weeks pouring over books and staying up till the wee hours of the morning to debug programs, it's finally time to bid farewell to this semester. Well, not that I didn't enjoy this semester. It was indeed hectic and stressful and I really went through a whole lot of new experiences =)

    So yeah, my exam ended today. Went to Mark's Place for dinner with my sis. We had lots of pizza and pasta, talk about the calorie intake! But anyways, I can't be bothered much these days...Had been indulging on hot chocolate and all. It's probably due to the winter blues but since I'm done with the exam now and there's approximately a month's break ahead , I'll need to start doubling my exercise routine  in order to stay fit.

    Okay, enough of the health talk for a while...Back to what I've done today. We then walked around Lygon and I couldn't resist getting a biker jacket from Portmans. It had a perfect fit and it was the last one they had in store. So yeah I got it, costing me almost my whole month's allowance. Yes, I do know that I should start saving up but all these temptations are getting on my way:-p

    Well, I guess I'll just call it a day. I'm too tired now to continue blogging. I'll have to start packing up tomorrow for my secret getaway, though. Have a lovely evening, everyone.

  • Fear, the emotion lingers around her;

    She has tried to conquer it all this while;

    Yet here lies the doubt she has been feeling,

    Intoxicating her soul as the hours flow.

  • Had my database exam from 5.45 - 8.00 pm yesterday. It went alright, I did manage to complete the exam on time unlike many others who didn't (well, I don't blame them...There were too many sub-questions to complete given that time constraint). I'm just keeping my fingers crossed right now, hoping that I pass this subject hurdle. I seriously don't want to repeat this subject, especially since it's something that I dislike...

    Will be having my Programming exam tomorrow morning. Hopefully all goes well. I'm still kind of worried about writing Exceptions and File Handling codes but I just can't seem to these concepts into my head
    So yeah, it's 9 more days to my freedom. I seriously miss home...Listening to Kingdom Heart's and Harvest Moon's soundtracks over and over again for the past few days has aided me a little since they remind me of my bro back home. I really have no regrets about my secret vacation after the exams!

  • Friday, 6th of June...Close to the end of my Swot Vac week. Yes, I have been trying to cramp twelve weeks worth of work into my head for the past few days...Still not sure if this is all worth it. Took some time off and went for my hair appointment this afternoon. I've been going for hair treatments a few months now and have become close to one of the staff over there who is of the same age as I am. I was looking forward to tell her how my day was and all when I realized that she has got an offer for a basketball scholarship and has resigned. I am, of course, very happy to hear that but sad at the same time as I haven't got a chance to say goodbye and wish her all the best. It's funny how significant a person feels to one when his or her presence doesn't feel close anymore. I do not have her contact details and I am sure it's not etiquette for a client to ask for some staff's contact details just to keep in touch. But I guess what matters most is that she was more of a friend to me than that of a staff.

    Anyways, I have been browsing through NST and here's the main issue in Malaysia recently:

    The sudden price hike in fuel has made the nation very unhappy. Well, I do not blame them, of course. I, too would be unhappy if I owned a vehicle. I mean, there used to be a time when fuel prices cost RM 1.00 per litre. Prices of food, rice for instance, has also gone up drastically. Ten kilograms worth of rice has gone up from RM 34.50 to over RM 50.00! Despite the government's consolation that this issue will make a turn for the better, I doubt that it would lead us to the road of recovery soon since there are still many other issues (such as currency problems, etc) that has yet to be resolved. But here I am, writing this entry, a thousand miles away from my homeland, hoping for luck to sweep through the nation once again.

    Trapped, cornered, surrounded by fate,
    She sat silently and wait.

    Creeping slowly into the dark,
    She began to let down her guard.

    Letting these shadows take her away,

    For she knew that it was no use to stay.
